4KTEC POM (also known as acetal, polyacetal) is commonly used to produce precision parts that require high stiffness, low friction and excellent dimensional stability. The material is widely used in the automotive sector, consumer electronics and high-quality technical parts such as small gears, ball bearings, ski bindings, fasteners and locking systems. Other applications include door handles and knobs, machine and equipment parts and automotive accessories.
4KTEC POM is characterized by its high strength, hardness and stiffness: even at low temperatures (down to -40 °C). Due to the low moisture absorption, it is also very dimensionally stable. POM itself has an opaque white color, but it is available in all colors and can be colored. We distinguish POM in a POM homopolymer and a copolymer (POM-H and POM C). POM-H has higher mechanical strength, stiffness, hardness and dimensional stability than POM-C, but the copolymer is more resistant to hydrolysis and thermal oxidation.
